I doubt the CC company would side with the OP if they knew all the facts - that the airline sent a confirmation a month ago that the OP failed to review for accuracy. Seems like a no-brainer to me. Always review confirmations for accuracy (airline tickets, ordering products online, etc). That is why they are sent!
To realize a month after the fact no longer makes it DL's problem, IMHO.
