For me the lightweight and stylish design is well worth the extra! Even before the Macbook Air i was thinking that laptop manufacturers should come up with product like with agility and design and i think they are going for the right direction with ultrabooks.

In my opinion example ipad is good for maybe checking facebook/twitter and watching some tv-series or following news streams. Working or example typing long emails it's just frustrating. I also don't like to keep it in my hands while watching movies/series and find the smartcase support mechanism rather wobbly.
