The colourful menu covers from J are long gone but they looked quite alright to me on my last flights. In regards to the 777s, I generally find them quite comfortable. I think SIA is currently upgrading them to a new in-between seat which fits somewhere in between the existing 777 seat and the Ultimo. There are now a fair few 777s flying around with the new WISEMEN system so if you’re into entertainment, they’re the pick of the crop in terms of probability. SQ has admitted cost cutting but generally I find it difficult to notice. Generally its just little insignificant things like cutting a beverage from the list, fewer toiletries etc. SQ to me still remains one of the best picks around in J although CX will probably pip them with the new products on offer right across the fleet unlike SIA which chooses to retrofit only a small number of aircraft but CX’s cabin crew so often leave so much to be desired in terms of the diction of the cabin crew who really need to pick up their English skills. I’m not trying to say that everyone needs to speak English and the vast numbers of CX’s clientele have no requirement for it but it is important to me and I’d prefer to be with crew who I can understand!
