Understood, thanks again. My belief is that I can always revise the rate.
As it turns out, I have a Navy ID card and as many are aware, a military ID card also functions as a highly effective travel discount card. Many hotels and car rental companies and resorts and tourist attractions offer military discounts. Often times the military rate is lower than a group rate. And many times I’ve attended a group or conference at a military rate and the hotel is able to link the two.
This brings up an interesting moral dilemma. For the sake of discussion, in this case, let’s say the military rate is indeed lower than the DO rate. If it was a dollar or 2. I’d gladly pay the extra dollar or 2 so that the DO gets the credit for the room. If it’s 40 or 50 or 60 lower I’m not so certain I’d pay more so the DO gets credit. Curious what other think.
On SMD3 if you did not stay at the Do hotels during the Do, you did not qualify for the Hyatt Diamond status. Have changed my usual hotels to Hyatt since then and have been enjoying the difference.
Also, I clearly recall that there will be some interesting things going on at Andaz Wall St before the JFK LHR flight. I plan to get there Saturday. And on the following Sat 28 Jan there will be very good things going on in LA. So, plan to depart on Monday, or Sunday pm.
My advice again would be to wait until the programme is announced, and the Do sponsored hotel rates are announced. Every year folk miss out because they book & lock themselves in too early.
