Wait a minute....

The items have to leave with you? I guess it does make sense but didn't occur to me ahead of time.

I departed NRT this morning with four of the tax free receipts in my passport (all taken out by customs/immigration) but left the bulk of what I bought in Japan for the time being....

Good thing they don't make a regular practice of having you show them the goods!
