I hope they let me keep my OP number, and I admit it's for an emotional rather than memory retention reason (which the PMUA flighers would have for theirs as well). I got my OP number when I was flying EA in the mid-80's. With all the times I've moved, my SS# is my only other personal identifier that has stayed the same in all that time besides the OP number.
