Having never been to any of these locations I'd like to not waste time staying at a fine hotel but sacrifice valuable time I could use sightseeing. That seems to be especially the issue with the Shanghai Hyatt properties which are quite distant from the main city attractions.
Any ideas?
Could you define what sightseeing is?
Shanghai most of the sites (for me) are outside the city itself. If you want to wander around, the bund, xintiandi, etc then I would choose hyatt on the Bund and not be in Pudong (Grand Hyatt and Park Hyatt).
Hong Kong is best if you stay at the Hyatt Regency TST as it is in the heart of Kowloon. The Grand Hyatt at wan chai is a little disconnected imo but a grand hotel. I have never stayed at the Hyatt Regency Shatin, and it is not a prime district.
Korea Seoul? Park Hyatt is near Coex mall, but is not near Myeondong. Grand Hyatt Seoul has a shuttle and is close to Myeondong but it is not in Myeondong itself. So it depends what you want to do. But if I understand you correctly I would stay closer to Myeondong cause going up and down the hill can be a pain.
No clue about taiwan to be honest cause I haven't stayed there.
Personally I would choose the Hyatt TST to use your vouchers, but the hotel isn't the best hotel, if you want the best I would stay at the Park Hyatt Shanghai or Seoul. PHSH is a little out of the way but it is not that bad. Considering you are staying in the hotel that Hyatt features on Hyatt.com. It can't be that bad no? and the VIEW! oh man, I dream of it! The PHS is also great for the view! But like I said it is next to COEX so I doubt you would want to stay there.
Hope this helps.
