Second, I'm looking for a program where my miles can be earned through credit card purchases, as I don't fly enough to accumulate miles through travel.
Third, though I want to use my miles for international upgrades, I feel like it would be better to join a *A US carrier (because I fly domestically more than internationally, and they have more mileage based credit cards available) such as United/Continental/Delta.
My question is, if I earn 100k miles on Delta's ffp, can I redeem those for an upgrade on Singapore Airlines, or Asiana? I understand that this only works for certain booking classes, but I'm having trouble finding a simple, concise answer to this (maybe there isn't one).
Thanks for your help, and I'm sorry if I rambled.

Delta is Skyteam, so you can't redeem with Star Alliance carriers like Asiana or Singapore.
US Airways is the best airline in the US for people who want lots of non-BIS miles.
