darn ... not even the exit row is available without paying $100 ... aren't there any discounts for partner elites?

I also think it's wrong of Delta to say that I have a confirmed seat on the flight when KLM doesn't see any proof of that ...
Only discounts are to DL PM and DMs and it is free if done through a DL agent and if done at KLM.com it only gives a 50% discount....kind of strange. From my understanding KLM will only accept the DL seat requests for EC if they have STE+ designation.

I do agree that it is weird that it shows the seat as confirmed on the DL end. I'm guessing that if you were to call in and inquire, it probably actually isn't confirmed but just requested and likely says Unconfirmed if someone was looking at it in their reservation system. I had this happen once when flying on AF where it showed I had a certain seat on AF on delta.com and when I called to see if there were any seats further forward I was told that my seat had only been requested but not confirmed from AF so I didn't even have a seat assignment! The treatment of DL elites from AF/KL is very frustrating because their elites get complimentary upgrades in the US on DL flights, access to preferred seats and Economy comfort (for them PLUS companions) but DL elites get very little on AF/KL. I would settle for one upgrade from Voyager to La Premiere on the A380 and shut up though One can always dream
