Recently Air Canada has been more actively managing the release of award seats to Aeroplan. Seats might be released at the 355 day mark, or perhaps 6 months before departure, or maybe never at all for the flight you are wanting. You simply can't tell anymore. The only thing that has not changed is that Air Canada is contractually obliged to release 8% of all seats/route/month to Aeroplan at Classic award pricing.
IME LH award inventory is available for booking at the 355 day mark which is is how far in advance Aeroplan allows award bookings.
I agree.. seats are no longer born..
It seems like the seats are released on a market based system.. when demand for a particular flight is low, then more AE reward seats are released to average out the load factor..
