I'd agree if you replace "nice" with "practically useless". Twice, it didn't prevent them from rebooking me and my wife on separate flights, so we just don't bother any more.
But it gives you documentation in those situations.
It's like when I call in everytime the ZFV kisk doesn't give me an Amtrak ticket right. It's a protective measure so that if CO cancels my flight, I can give them hell.
