If I rethink and go with carry on, how practical is it to use Left Luggage in Terminal 5? I'll be arriving from LAX and going on the following day to the Middle East. Are both flights in Terminal 5?

Coming thru immigration, and returning thru international F, how close is Left Luggage?

The baggage storage area at Terminal 5 is on the Arrivals level near domestic Arrivals.

I need to get into central London as quickly as possible on arrival.
