Why? The range shouldn't be an issue and if it means the difference between ORD-MAN versus ORD-EWR-MAN or ORD-LHR-MAN I'm guessing there might be sufficient demand to fill a 752 in a two-cabin config that makes the economic sense where the three-cabin 763s didn't. It is these sorts of operational efficiencies that the merger success is predicated on. And I'm guessing they'll do just fine on routes like ORD-MAN. AA already operates it on a 752 so it isn't like there's a lot of competition on wide-body aircraft for the minority population that books based on such.
