The BA award chart will be changing in mid-November, and it is widely expected that the cost of a mainland U.S.-Hawaii award will be going up. Book what you BA miles before the change, if you can.

Both AA and BA miles can also be used on AS. BA awards also permit free, en-route stopovers if desired; AA awards (between the mainland and Hawaii) do not.

Your Amex MR points can also be transferred to Star Alliance and Sky Team affiliates, so at least some of your award flights could be on CO/UA, DL, and/or US.

To book AS or HA flights with AA miles, you must call AA, and pay the telephone-ticketing fee. You can check AS award availability on AS' website; only "Supersaver" (lowest-tier) award seats that show on AS' site can be booked with AA (or BA) miles.
