Bomb scare sends SIA jet back to Frankfurt

FRANKFURT -- A Singapore Airlines (SIA) plane headed for Singapore from Frankfurt was forced to turn back on Sunday after a crew member found a piece of paper with a bomb threat aboard the plane, German airport officials said.

The plane, which was carrying 330 passengers, later landed safely at Frankfurt and a search found no trace of a bomb.

The passengers were taken to an airport hotel and are awaiting another flight home. -- AFP
