I'd suggest you also not go to Cambodia, Laos, or Vietnam either. And stay away from Caribbean islands, Mexico, and Central American countries.You'd be okay in Singapore. Japan is unique for an Asian country.

I'm in China now and no one has tried to scam me like this. But then, I'm a savvy global traveler for over 30 years and know how to avoid being taken in.
