Both my outbound (YYT-YYZ-PVG on Dec 1) and return (Dec. 7) were cancelled. However, the rebooking was, in my view bizarre. Same routing, but... YYT-YYZ on Dec. 1, YYT-PVG on Dec. 2, and the return bumped to Dec. 8. Not good when my meetings start on Dec. 2.
Not sure why they didn't reroute me through YVR in both directions on the correct dates. When I called (during the height of call volume when the strike was looming), I was able to make the changes I wanted. I found the agent quite helpful when I got through. She said she was excited not to be dealing with a call on a strike-related rebooking.
Also, I don't think the PDFs sent out with the changes clearly enough identify what has been changed. I almost missed the date change, as I was looking for a change in flight number and/or departure time (which there also was on the Dec. 1 YYT-YYZ leg).
