ai has actually come out with a policy for upgrades which they seem to be following quite well....you only get an upgrade from economy to business if you book a fare in 's' class or above....& business to first upgrade is only if you have a paid business fare....

You have got to be kidding me. When did a policy or rule or lack there of stop a babu or mantri from doing anything they want. If something exists, you can pretty much count on our netas and babus to abuse it.
