I meant that Okinawa does have nice beaches (and resorts I imagine), but the rest of Japan is left wanting. Most of the coastline has been cemented up to stop erosion and (smaller) tidal waves.

Japanese hotels are pretty good, especially the newer chains. However many of the resorts I have seen are a bit worn. Customer service is good overall though.

What season is the OP looking at?
