Isn't that exactly why they should consider getting into airlines? I mean, these two businesses goes hand in hand.
1. Airlines are rather ordinarily not great investments, as profitability is not consistent for most of them and as they are subject to all sorts of shocks beyond their control.
2. The bigger airline-hotel combo businesses have mostly been unwound in more recent decades because the value in the hotel business was getting destroyed by being combined with the airline business. Splitting up was a way of unlocking value for shareholders and increasing focus and predictability of performance.
Tata won't be acquiring AI anytime soon. As the saying goes, wouldn't touch it with even someone else's ten foot pole.
