If the OP is flying on the flights listed above, they are taking an E90 with limited overhead storage and limited front closet storage. The wedding dress could be too bulky for both locations as this type of dress is not known for lying flat like a suit jacket.
Preferred recommendation would be to have the dress shop pack in SFO pack the wedding dress and ship it ground courier to a YYZ dress shop. THis option would be costly but it would be the best method for transporting the dress.
Another option would be to switch to an AC airbus operated nonstop flight to YYZ. This routing would avoid the E90 situation.

You are right about the E90. Did not realize the plane is much smaller than an AC airbus.... sigh.
So I think I'm leading towards getting my fiance bring the dress instead... since he is flying direct from sfo to yyz on a later date and he has AC status for priority boarding. I hope the flight attendants will work extra hard to accommodate groom-to-be as well??
Either way we shouldn't check-in the dress in a big suitcase right?
