Wrong twice over. First, IME, Orbitz lets DL charge your card directly for the fare portion of the transaction. Second, the DL credit card bit is simply based on you having the card, not using it for the purchase. If you can log into your SkyMiles account and it says you have the credit card, you get all the perks, regardless of how you bought the ticket.
