I travel a lot, Plat with Marriott and always do my own reservations, these days mostly on line.

I booked a trip to the Okinawa Marriott for November a few months back. Did it on line and it seems I put 1 in the room occupancy section of the booking.

There will be 2 of us, and when I e mailed the hotel with a transportation query they questioned how many people would be in the room.

When I told them 2 they quoted a higher rate for double occupancy (same room type).

I have gone back to Marriott.com and although that specific rate is not available the rates that are are the same whether I try and book for one person or two.

They are charging me 3000JPY a night extra for the second person and I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Strange that on Marriott.com the rate is the same for one or two, should I take this further or just accept the increase?
