So the equipment swap issue is simply that, each time it happens, there's a check for whether someone is supposed to be where they are and it moves them if not? And with multiple equipment swap potential, with the plane becoming progressively more full, it becomes increasingly difficult to re-seat two people together (in a decent seat)? It is a question that no one knows.
Usually, United is good in re-assigning similar seats (Once I have a swap from 757 > 767, and I still got the same exit row aisle on the left side).
