We stayed at the Hilton Curacao in Sept. The area is beautiful, the staff is great, but the hotel is dated to say the least. We were upgraded to ocean view - executive floor. The executive lounge is okay, the 5-7pm happy hour works well - free snacks, wine and beer.
The rooms are most dated part. Our toilet flushed intermittently, stains on the ceilings, a/c blew but didn't cool. Oh, and the ice makers are always out on every floor.
The pool/lagoon area are pretty nice. There is another beach area that is off to the left of the hotel that is more traditional beach vs. lagoon. There are rooms there that seem to be affiliated with the Hilton, but are REALLY dated. Don't know the story here.
We primarily went for diving and were disappointed that the On Site dive shop rarely had boats that left from the hotel dock. One day, they picked us up there, but other days we had to shuttle into the city.
I heard a rumor that this Hilton Managed property is close to losing it's franchise status due to complaints. This could be a nice hotel, but they need a complete renovation.
So, Curacao - not the best Hilton in the Caribbean.
