I think Costco beef is much better than safeway. Last night, I grilled Costo New York steaks on the grill. They came out perfectly. They tasted just as good as the Wagyu beef that I had at a very, very, very famous Japanese restaurant I ate here in California.

Costco just has such high quality food, it's amazing. The juiciness, flavor, and tenderness of these New York steaks were easily just as good as that of the Wagyu beef that I paid $95 for. And the Costco steaks were a fraction of a cost. They were $14.99/pound, and I got 3 beautiful steaks for $32.

I think that if you want the Wagyu experience at a fraction of the cost, Costco is the way to go! ^
