Yes, that sounds really familiar to me. I also filed the BPG form online some days ago and received the following email, but after this (some days ago) I do not get a further confirmation.
"We have verified the lower rate you found on
www.xxxxx.com. We have contacted the hotel and requested a rate adjusted to free night. We appreciate your patience and will contact you via e-mail when this has been confirmed.
We look forward to accommodating your upcoming reservation. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us via e-mail or phone at 800.447.2981.
Sincerely,"
It would be great, if IHG would directly change the reservations to zero after they had verified the lower rate.
