I booked a BFR at an IC on 27th Sept, filed the BPG online which was rejected but was advised to change the booking to AP and the guarantee would be honoured. I did this whilst on the phone with the agent. Then received this email
" We have contacted the hotel and requested a verification of the lower rate you found. We appreciate your patience and will contact you via e-mail when this has been confirmed."

I phoned on the 8th Oct as the hotel has not adjusted the AP rate and was told the agent dealing with my claim was not in, 15 mins later received this email


"My colleague XXXX is currently out so I have checked the case for you. We have are still contacting the hotel and will inform you as soon as we have heard from them. We appreciate your patience and will contact you via e-mail when this has been confirmed."

Its now 2 Weeks and still nothing from the BPG team. What I can't understand is how they can be waiting for the hotel to verify the cheaper rate, fortunately the rate is still available on the 3rd party web site.

I am sure this sounds familiar to others
