b) just enter your Delta number in the reservation.

I am still confused why you would even contemplate paying $500 more for a Delta ticket....
a) I've just finished the trip, but the miles haven't been credit to China Eastern because I didn't sign up to its program when I booked the trip. However, I do have option the be its member and have this trip credit once I signed up.

b) Because this trip was booked via Expedia, the carriers are mixed. The biggest part was China Eastern. Although I did provided DL Skymiles number, the miles with China Eastern won't be automatically post to my DL Skymiles account unless I request it.

The reason I said maybe I should choose Delta at the first place is that now I recognized the China Eastern miles can only be transferred to Delta with 50% of actual miles and no 25% Medallion bonus either. That means although I saved $500 in cash, but I may lost 10,000 miles with Delta if I choose to convert. I was not sure whether I should convert; or maybe just apply to China Eastern account and post all the miles with China Eastern for future use.

Thanks.
