ps we are flying Business Class to MUC so will get off the plane faster and then economy to Milan. Don't know if this will have any impact on luggage transference though.

If your flight is on time, you will probably be at the gate with plenty of time to spare. Munich is a very easy airport to transfer in. I would also imagine no problem with your luggage as the airport is set up for 30 minute transfers.
