Last year I was given a lounge pass by a LH check-in agent and specifically directed to go to a lounge (instead of given choices). I don't remember the lounge name, but it catered to multiple airlines, including non star-alliance airlines. Very crowded and limited booze selections.
You may be directed to one lounge, but several will accept the invitations.
I would suggest aking them if you could look around before surrendering your
invitation, so you could scout out which one you prefer.
