CO did not have this service, so I guess the new UA thought they should just get rid of it as well. You are still able to use a :POC, that is approved, but you must have battery life of 1.5 X the flight hours. You may Not plug into the 110V plugs on the aircraft. When you live in Asia as I do, you would require a great deal of battery service to fulfill that 1.5 X battery life.
A POC is approx. $ 4,000.00 to $ 5,000.00 with batteries. A lot of people could just not afford them. A great service just seems to have been done away with the merger. It's not like you didn't have to pay for this, $ 125.00 per segment. SAD ...and I guess goodbye to UA
You said you live in Asia. Do you fly to visit relatives in the U.S.? If so, those relatives can file a complaint with the Department of Transportation and claim a case of discrimination against a disabled person.
