I live about 2 miles from the rosewood, and while I agree the rooms are nice (wife and I have stayed there a couple of times to escape kids :-) and the lounge/bar is nice, you can do much better for food than Madera. It's not bad, but for the money the Village Pub in woodside has much better food and service, and until it closed last week Kaygetsu just down Sand Hill had the best kaiseki and sushi in the bay area.

But it is a nice place for a beer / glass of wine and a snack after work.
