I would like to see Starwood introduce spend requirements for status, so you can't get Gold without spending $5K or Platinum without spending $10K.
iIm kinda-sorta with you on this, but I'm sure Starwood hotels in the middle of bumf*ck nowhere (where some of us have to travel) would like some loyal guests as well. some low spends aren't because you're looking for the cheapest rates- it's that you just travel to cheap places.
