Thanks for the replies, I thought the 17 minute walk time from terminal to train station sounded screwy, and you all confirm that it is, indeed, rather off.

It is indeed a shortish walk < 10 mins. If the OP wanted to cut-down further, (s)he could take the pre-metro from Gare du Nord to Rogier (one station) but I personally would walk unless I had heavy cases.
Or a sleep-deprived kid just off a TATL flight...
