The cancel time is definitely 12am eastern time.

Living in Denver, the "Cancel Flight" option disappears at 10pm here.

Now, what time do they use that starts the period? I haven't figured that one out yet. I will buy a ticker after 10pm Denver time but it will still show the date in Denver as the purchase date.
