How did you get the 5 pt per $ spend offer? Was it a targeted mailer or you called the retention dept and the rep offered this?
I like the Premier card too. Unfortunately we never receive any good offers other than the 1.2 per $ spend crummy ones. Our cards also are 0 fee grandfathered from the brief period in 2006 when PPE was offered without fee - so we could not use the annual fee as bargaining chip.
With the death of ex-Schwab 2%, I feel this Citi Premier card gives the highest rebate ratio on EVERYTHING when you always have flight points to match. I still juggle our spend by categories / seasonal promotion on other cards but put non-bonus earning spend on the PPE and the C1 Venture (until we ditch it when anniversary is up and annual fee due).
That it being a World MC also is a keeper because our other cards are Visa Cards and AMEX cards.
