I haate BofA as much as the next guy, especially after working for them for 15 years, but what did people expect? Legislation was passed that severely limited what LARGE banks could charge merchants to process their debit transactions. Now, the interesting thing is, those limits were not applied to SMALL banks. So, expect to see many smaller banks and credit unions not follow suit, but instead use it as a marketing tool. Almost makes you wonder if congress' real intent here was to shrink the big banks. Take your money to a small bank that lends to small busineses in your community and can help create jobs, oh, and doesn't charge a debit card fee!
