I just discovered this thread, and I find it fascinating. I must be flying with the wrong people a lot of the time, because the planes I'm on usually have all (or nearly all) of the windowshades pulled down. I LOVE looking out the window, but the announcement about viewing the movie screen (when it's the pop-down ones) makes me feel like I HAVE to close the shade. I don't want to offend other passengers. What am I to do? I am not a movie watcher, and sit coms to me are a big waste of time. I'd much rather be viewing the landscape or doing a sudoku or crossword puzzle, or maybe dozing!
