I'll agree with this - the GM comment was way out of line. There are some "bad apples" in every chain.

Having met you briefly in FRA years ago and now knowing the property involved, I'm wondering if this wasn't a case of "reverse discrimination" (eg discriminate "against" people who appear like they might be local). As to the skimpiness of the Diamond Amenity, unfortunately that seems to be fairly common at International properties (the 3 green apples at the HR Mainz is an ongoing forum joke).
