Before posting, I searched previous threads and googled the web - but didn't find a definitive answer.

When reading the Amex credit card info on another site, this sentence caught my attention:

"Also, MQMs can be gifted to someone else with a valid SkyMiles account within 90 days of earning the MQMs"

My questions are:
1) can anyone validate that MQMs earned via Delta Amex can be transferred to another person to help them reach an elite level.?

2) can MQM earned via flying be transferred from one person to another to help that person reach an elite level? (ie, have my wife accompany me on a mileage run, then transfer her MQMs to my account by year end?)

My situation: with planned travel and pending AMEX MQMs, I will land at 58k for the year...dropping me from long standing Plat to Gold - unless I do a couple of mileage runs of Delta comes up with some Q4 MQM promos.
