I wouldn't call this a "new hotel", but nevertheless, it's a nice experience. For me it's not a luxury resort, but akin to perhaps the FS in Palo Alto.
I haven't stayed at the FS in PA so I can't make the comparison but the way the property is spread out (compared to most hotels which are vertical) gave it a resort feel.
To me, a hotel that opened in the past 2 years is new as opposed to the overwhelming majority of hotels I stay at that seemed to have opened prior to 1900.

Of course, I love the classic grand hotels such as the Imperial and the Kempinski Vier Jahreszeiten but new and modern are nice also.
