I always book a window seat (except when I've unfortunately booked last minute yet again and none are available), and "most" of the time I'll look out of the window during takeoff/landing, and if/when we're flying over something notable to me.

On the flip side, I have booked a window seat and not even glanced out the window once. Routine trip, all to familiar airport/city. Once, I even had someone ask me why I'm sitting in a window seat if I wasn't even interested in looking out :shrug:
