The only boarding-related delays I've had in the past several months were when COdbaUA tried to go "the CO way or the highway" and do back-to-front boarding by rows on UA metal. What a total charlie foxtrot that was...

Although I think the current process has issues (I still miss the red/blue carpet exclusivity for 1K/F/GS, particularly when I'm running a bit behind schedule), once they got it out of their heads that row-boarding was a good idea, things have gone much more smoothly, as you point out.
