actually you can use Asia Miles to upgrade flights on quite a few airlines besides CX...including, AA, BA, MU, KA, LX, EI, etc...but, while both AA and MU on the list, i also don't think you could upgrade AA flights operated by MU...but i really don't have the correct answer, you might need to call them to find out...
