My 5 cents.

Bose does receive a lot of flak (sometimes with a reason), but the quietcomfort 3 are perfectly acceptable from an audiophile point of view. (Please trust me I know what I'm talking about). They are arguably the best noise canceling headphones out there.

You need them if you travel a lot and you are a music lover. You don't need them if the ipod headphones are okay for you under normal circumstances. Get much cheaper sony noise canceling headphones or something in that case. Spend if you want "silence" with a quite good sound.

But the bad news is. I have seen a few offers where they are about 10 euros cheaper and that's about it. I reckon you read about the offer with the flying blue miles. So if you fancy the Bose QC3 you might as well go for the FB miles.
