Perhaps it will help, but I just think it is poor form and frankly rather vulgar to ask someone how much they earn ("You really need...") when advice can easily be given without knowing this specific information.

As regards nationality, it IMHO is only relevant in that it influences what the poster wants, and the poster has made no indication that it is relevant.

Perhaps, as I did many years ago upon moving to London, this individual wants to actively avoid other people from his/her home country whilst new in this country (I did not leave my home country to live amongst people from it). I honestly do not know if you are assuming that this poster would automatically want to live around his/her compatriots or that he/she will feel more comfortable in a particular area because of his/her nationality but I probably would not find nationality relevant myself when recommending somewhere to live. It would appear that the poster feels the same, otherwise he/she probably would have brought it up.
