(Edit - nevermind, points are gone now. Must've just taken awhile.) The AGR points have not been debited from my account. Is this normal? There's no chance Amtrak is going to sell my space to someone else before I print the tickets, correct? I don't plan to print them until some time close to departure since I may want to add someone to my room and I've read that is a hassle after printing the tickets.

Now I just need to decide whether to spend a few days in Seattle and fly home or just a day and take the Empire Builder home. This will be my first long distance train trip, and while I think I'm going to love it I'm not sure I should commit to another 2-3 days of train travel before I experience the first 3-4.

You could try the train from Vancouver to Toronto through the Canadian Rockies if you are interested PM me and I will send your link to a good sale site (I am not affiliated with the site in any way) and give you some other tips.
You will love the empire builder though
