Since you are asking about coach, about 3-4 weeks ago on an early Friday morning departure ex-SFO, I think CX was paying a couple of coach passengers some bump money not to fly that nite. All cabins full, I tried getting on as a standby revenue passenger in the biz-cabin, and didn't make it. The CX supervisor casually mentioned that they were overbooked by many pax for the rest of July. Don't know if that overbooking spills into August, but I wouldn't doubt it.
