I would've given my money to the pilot who diverted. If you have to fly it that hard, it's probably not a good idea to try to put it onto the tarmac.
Sure I wouldn't want a cowboy flying but from 24A I wasn't privy to all the information the crew had at hand when they made their call.
A dramatic landing experience for pax doesn't necessarily mean there was undue risk.
It was an interesting ride but it wasn't like there were people screaming / crying / throwing up
My point was just that this was by no means an auto-land. The people up front definitely had to work for their money
